Did you telephone in advance to enquire about the car as if so it could already have been warmed up. If not, then it's not a good thing to do.

If it was cold and he to it over 2,000 rpm he,s a prat
don,t buy it
I start mine gently take it to 1,500 a couple of times then warm up on tick over on drive for 5-10 mins.
then keep it under 2,500 while driving until 70deg showing on temp gauge and when oil pressure starts dropping off when you throtle off.
THEN YOU CAN PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. hows this compare to everyone else?

Cant say it sounds good to me!!
Even if my car is already warm I still let it get back up to operating temp and oil pressure drops AND diff warm before I give it any stick.
If he floored it and didnt say 'it is already warm and I ALWAYS warm it up properly' then I wouldnt bother.
How much did he want ?
I am trying to work out how much my 98 4.5 S is worth.

My warm up =
When cold dont let it go above 2.5K for first 2 or 3 miles. Then not above 3K for next 4 or 5 miles then up to 4K until I have done about 10 - 12 miles and then happily floor it.

My warm up: -
Start and drive on tick over through my village (approx 2 miles) then up to max 3,000. When temp hits 70 i wait another 5 miles before playing!!
Don't know if this is helping the Cerb but why play on your own door step and annoy your locals!!
