so subsequently when the door is closed the glass is not alinged with the roof.
It only happened recently on the drivers side of 330 convertible, and I remember reading that there is a way to reset the window so it drops down when the door is opened and will raise once the door is closed.
Can anyone tell me how this is done?

Thanks

Cant remember the exact method of doing this but it goes along the lines of. Get in and close the door take the window all the way down but keep the button pressed for around ten seconds, then all the way up again keeping the button pressed for around 10 seconds do this a couple of times and it should start dropping when you open the door again. It's definately something like that. If that doesn't work, just google it. You will find something on their. Among one of the BMW forums no doubt.

Sounds like a dodgy microswitch to me. I had this on my old e36 325i years ago. If you google bmw coupe microswitch fault you should find something. Basically when you lift the handle the microswitch should active the inch drop of the window. I can't remember the fix but its not particularly hellish iirc. Not like replacing the window guides which I also had to do.
