How to make more pops and bangs?

I have a Mk1 with CC's but there are not a lot of pops and bangs on the overrun. What am I not doing?

Can't really help other than to say my Mk 1 had sleeved cans when I got it and had a fair bit of 'artillery' going on.

Now its de-catted too, and seems even more and of course LOUDER - even a gear change can induce a pop.

Great fun when 'hooning' around occasionally as I do, but not sure I could live with it every day?

I have the same set up but plenty of pops and bangs? Try using Tesco 99 RON and if you really want to pop away, put in some CVL Turbo petrol additive!! Apparently it adds 4 additional RON.....

make sure the engine is properly tuned and/or decat it.

I have CC's on my mk 1. It doesn't pop or bang when it's cold but that's probably to do with the fact I don't give it much revs.

Once it's warm though, pops and bangs all you want from about 3000rpm down. Obviously lot's more when i've been giving it some. Can even get them on gear change as well.

As M3coupe says Carbon Cans will give you all the pops and bags you need, the carbon cans look just like you existing Cans but you can get them in other finishes like chrome etc. One benifit of CC is that you will have no problem with passing an MOT emmission test with them. I think, but I could be wrong, that with a De-cat you will have to put them back on for an MOT. I'm not 100% sure about that so perhaps someone who knows better could advise.

Oh and CCs cost £250 but its been a while since I bought them.

Nice warm engine, CCC's and I get plenty of pops, bangs and crackles when I back off and the rpm's get down to around 3k and below. Also get a nice pop when changing up

CCC's with standard cats, not much happens until oil temp gets above 65 degrees, then it kicks off big time.
Sweet spot seems to be between 21k and 25k rpm on mine (4l 'S' Mk1) which is perfect for 3rd gear around town when it sounds like the Normandy invasion ....

full bore gear changes at 6k+ are pretty sweet too .....

I've tried a "non decat" chip on my decatted Tuscan, gives a lot more bangs and pops, sometimes even fire at the exhaust a friend of mine said

All,
I have Ntels decats very well made! From memory roughly £185 ish. £100 cheaper than power!
I purchased the decat chip on the recommendation from Ntel £150+vat + PP from TVR power.

Car goes and sounds like a rocket!!

I haven't chipped mine yet, but i might as I feel as though there may be a 'slight' flattening in power higher up the range - might be just me though?

Haven't got to the MOT bridge yet though, but I'll have the cats on standby...
