Are the performance figures on this Ultima GTR fact or fiction?

Suspect that's what the theoretical perfomance is, but to achieve in real life.............doubt it.
0-60 in less than 3 secs requires slicks I reckon, as does stdg 1/4 in 8.43 secs.

Power must be about same as Stig's car - Stig can you do 248 mph?.

Doubt the figues very much..especially the 1/4 mile time. And 248 mph?? thats almost 400 km/h....no chance.

Still, it looks like its going 400 km/h standing still....just like any other GTR.

I doubt his figures but if he has the power he says and the weight is correct then it should outperform a McLaren F1 LM and that car makes 0-60 in under 3 secs and tops close to 400... So why not?

Is this a standard ZZ430. Not that much power. If he sells that car for that much money I'm quiting work and starting my own factory.

But there is such a range variation in his posted weight - Weight: 1501-2000 lbs. 500lbs makes a lot of difference between a quick car and a superquick car.

Also I am interested to know what cogs/diff ratio he runs in his box as to get sub 9's on the quarter and a top speed of 240 odd would suggest a close ratio and long legged box all in one. I am not convinced.

FICTION. Even though you can buy a Porsche gear to give you a 248mph top speed, you would have to spend some time in the suspension and aerodynamic tuning department to make the car stable. All of his numbers sound a bit exagerated. Especially the price tag!

Presumably this american's stereotypical exaggeration is reflected in the stereotype that this is the difference in weight of the car depending on wether he's in it or not...

Well Stig (CJ) has that kind of hp doesnt he?
I havent heard him raving about a sub 9 sec 1/4 time.
BTW, has anyone noticed its alot quieter around here since Stig finished his car?

Well, once you finish them, you drive them Well, that's the theory.

After and extremely busy period in the Autumn with work, Ive been busy moving workshops recently, after being evicted from the last one at extremely short notice

Still, the new one has LOTS more space. Enough to build another car in fact

Work to be done over the winter to get the car fully sorted for the spring, when the roads are a bit better. I was out in it on Sunday and the rears lit up with even gentle prods of the throttle - which of course is great fun, but does limit the hooning a bit

As for the stats above, they are a little ambitious! In theory you could gear the car to do that sort of speed, but you'd need a hell of a straight to do it!

As it is, mine's geared for about 180mph which gives far more 'urge' in the gears. I'm happy with this as the car was built with the track in mind, not the dragstrip.

Still, were I to decide to go for a max speed setup, I'd imagine that it could comfortably get into the 230mph+ territory.

But, as I've said before, the engine isn't performing to its fullest potential yet. But that's something I'll be addressing very shortly

Hi Stig nice to see you back in Forum. I was also on the road at weekend. If anyone was following me thay must have wondered what I was doing, the backend was twitching all over the place. Cold roads & Tyres!!.
Did you get around to having your exhausts coated. I am pondering on doing the same, just wondered if you had seen the results.

Exhausts are 1st on my list of to do's over the break. It seems a few of us are looking to do this. I'll start a new thread to see if we can get a bulk deal?

The owner works across the street from me. Never seen the car but I talked to the owner, nice guy. That site is complete crap, looking through a found a 2002 lambo listed has 5000lbs and a Nissan skyline listed has <1000

If you go to add a car you have to pick from a horse power and weight range you don't get to enter a number. His numbers still seem way off but at least it explains it somewhat.

Hey Folks -
That's my GTR there and those stats are indeed incorrect. Someone posted pics of my car and while indeed some of the info is correct, engine, transaxel etc. the 1/4 mile time is way bogus as well as top speed. The car is fast, I've never had it past 180. ( that was on a public road and I was chicken in the fact I didn't want to get stopped or have a deer run out in front of me ) As for that purchase price....I'd gladly sell for that amount if there are any takers.
