I'm sure i've read somewhere that they don;t have start and stop points, but the motors cut out at a certain resistance, u had the same problem with just one side, sprayed some lubricant on the axle, pressed the button for 5 or six times, retracted fully fine without a problem

hi piquet thanks for the answer, did you spray lubricant between the mirror and the arm that holds it to the door or remove the casing to expose some of the workings?

there is a black plastic arm that holds the axle that the mirror rotates on out, i hope this makes sense, i just sprayed lubricant at the bottom as i figured that's where it would be driest and it seemed to fix the problem. I have some of the local savages who were walking along smashing everyones wing mirrors, hit mine and knock the front body coloured plastic cover off, i just clipped it back on, so clearly they're removable, so it spraying at the bottom doesn't fix it, popping that off should give you more access, let me know what happens
