spitfire?

just wondering if there was an air show on last weekend in the east anglia area because i heard a few piston engine air craft flying about an then just after lunch a spitfire did a few laps over my house, im not really a air craft person i just wondered what was going on out of interest, it had the d-day stripes on and might of been a mk 5, it didn't have the cliped wings but it had the 20mil cannons? pointing out the wings

There are aire shows most week-ends in the UK and there are around 30 airworthy Spitfires around.
