Hi Guys

Sorry for the abrupt title. But this gives an idea of my frustration.

I have a standard exhaust on a 3r and on the back box the top right support keeps breaking. I have one end of the support welded then the other end goes and vice versa. Every 2-4 weeks it seems to go and want to get it resolved. I know it’s a small issue but an annoyance as I hate the rattling noise when it loose.

If anyone has had the same issue please can you suggest how I resolve it. For example it there a modified support with more give in it?

drill and replace with a bracket that is supported by a rubber

or push the broken part out of the way so it does not rub any more

Weld a bigger plate onto the exhaust box with a bigger strap attached.
it probably won't stop breaking altogether, just less frequently.
Otherwise get a Roush or Haywood & Scott exhaust.

Check out post #2 in this thread for my fix:

Engineered not to break!

(Of course not long after, I switched to a full Hoover exhaust system, which also fixes the problem smile.)
