Yes and no. I've done in depth analyses of these two cars because I own one of each.
If its a Boxster S vs a Chimaera 4.0 then the performance is too close to call. But our Chimaera 450 out accelerates my Boxster S by a second on the 0..60 and two seconds on the 0..100.
However the Boxster will go around corners in a way that the Chimaera simply cannot match...and, again if its the S, it will stop on a sixpence in comparison to the Chimaera.
On a track day I'd say the Boxster S would be a quicker car. Point to point on the road either would do as well as the other. Sheer overtaking ability the Chimaera would have to win.
So now you have more information than he does...use it wisely.

In all seriousness, I have seen an S driven hard and was mighty impressed. However, 90% of the time these cars are driven by those who buy on image alone and aren't real drivers. Used to enjoy eating standard Boxsters in the S3 and would kill them in the Chim. Buyers of the S do tend to be "drivers" though IMHO.

Ok I know this is the Chimaera forum, but if a Boxster S will leave a Chimaera on the twisty bits, how about Boxster S vs. T350C? Very similar money new, and I've heard so many good things about the 350's handling...
its a fair comparison on price.
In my limited experience with either car, i would say the T350 would dick it. The 350 performance is fantastic all round and the lap times produced by the stig on TG are enough to suggest the boxster wouldnt even be in the contest.

I am happy in the knowledge that the words TVR Chimaera wont fit into a song very easily...
