Hi, I have an A4 2.8 Quattro Avant, looking to put some new wheels on it but have absolutely no idea about all the 8j 5x112 etc etc. Can anybody please tell me what size wheel I have and what size will fit? I'm looking for a nice 17" set, Cheers.

its written on the inside of the wheel, normally on the one of the spokes

Standard wheel on a base 2.8 quattro is a 15, can have 16s or 17s depending on options, model and age. 18s fit too.

the 8j is the width, the 5x112 is the pcd or wheel stud pattern (5 studsx 112mm apart).

The wheel shop should be able to advise you on which wheels will fit your car for the diameter you require, remember that the bigger the diameter of the wheel, the lower the profile tyre you need to maintain the speedo accuracy and fit within the arches and without adjustable dampers this will make you feel more bumps and more prone to tramlining (following grooves in worn out roads)

but they look better with big wheels and this is the single most thing you can do to improve any cars appearance
