Odd day really, drove the Griff up to the A59 to join the other TVRs paying tribute to Mr W on the A59 and then had a blast of a drive (another fitting tribute I think) across the fells to Morecambe to secure the purchase of another Wedge, see below:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

It's a nice 350i but the motor won't run - hopefully nothing major. Not quite sure why I bought it - yet another decision of the heart - but I'm sure Mr W would approve. Especially with THAT reg!

If anyone knows anything about this new addition to my fleet please drop me a line. Steve

Looks very tidy, probably something simple like the temp sender for the ECU.....possibly got the Lucar connectors mixed up with the other sender positioned next to it during the rebuild?

ok will check that, thanks Chedder. If you have anything else I could check that would be much appreciated. It started up easily enough when we removed the plenum hose to the airflow meter otherwise it just floods apparently. But there's no oil pressure so the pump probably needs priming as it's stood a long long time, and a new set of plugs and some fresh oil will be done before we try again.

Is it just me that finds the above post bordering on offensive ?

Good luck with the 350i, from the pictures it looks like she's had a lot of £££££ thrown at her, I'm sure there is a valid reason for the inconsistent number plates ! thumbup

Could be any one of a few things, if you get stuck give me a shout and I could call in for a look as I'm in Lancs too.

B@tman - I agree, without someone having the b***s to take cars like this on they'd end up being broken for parts or sitting on someones drive until the end of time. Besides, as long as the price reflected the risk, which I'm sure it did, then there's headroom to sort out the problems. Car looks nice in the pics - Good Luck and let us know how you get on.

shall ignore strange posting and instead thank those PH'ers who have posted encouraging comments - yes of course the odd number plates are easily explained and yes the car is in great shape overall and I will report back in a couple of weeks when time is found to sort out the engine gremlins and get it down to the MOT station. Had it on the ramp at XWrks service yesterday and Heath poked and prodded and gave me the thumbs up as it all looks very good indeed underneath. The paintwork and interior are first class and it has been well looked after and comes with a load of history and all original owners manual / service record. Should be a very decent 350i very soon..

At a guess, the rear plate was a cherished registration which was replaced by the mark on the front plate smile

I don't know much about the minutiae of the TVR, but that looks like an excellent way of spending a couple of grand.
