I hate my life.

Have done. Working those hours are surely a sign that 'something' is wrong, although that may not always be evident to you at the time.

Yeah, very much so, but its becoming the 'norm' here to do 50hrs a week, with 60hr weeks about 1 in 3. Being paid for 40 of course.

Not today, but have done the odd overnighter in my time. Start at 8 in the morning and still be going at 10 the next morning.

I feel your pain, I am so glad all that is well behind me now. I did 80-100 hour weeks for a year at one point in my career, topping out with a few 120 hour weeks..... my excuse for why I look a little worn now....

Ultimately it was worth the effort, now I work good hours have lots of time off and am paid handsomely for the time I put in.

I have done 2 12 hr days in a row now with an hour travelling at each end, this is editing using AfterEffects and very brain-heavy, and I am making a shed load of mistakes today!! It just proves that the more you do, the less productive you are. irked

I know, compared with some on here I am a lightweight! The work I am doing takes 100% concentration all the time as you are dealing with so many different layers at once, I need another head silly

And how many people that are doing the funky hours here work in IT/finance/Lawyers/doctors?

I was in IT and Finance sector and would be doing 10 hours a day standard and anything upto 85hours by noon on saturday was not totally unheard of.

My time was served in IT, but many years ago. Many times I woke up laying across a desk or on one occasion on the computer room floor having fallen asleep in the middle of doing something. I cant recommend computer room floors, I fell asleep over an air vent and woke up freezing cold with a very stiff neck.

80+ hour weeks are the normal rather than the exception. 100+ hour weeks are regular. On the upside I get 6 months off every year so I don't complain and get paid on my time off so it averages out.
