'What car' section.

Could a section be set up specifically for 'what car' threads. GG is getting swamped with near identical threads about 'what car should I get next', 'what car for a family', 'what car for a middle aged overweight bald man'.

I am guilty of a couple of these threads but the biggest problem is they usually descend into bickering between or sniping at fanboys.

I don't think a what car section would work very well, not many people would go there to answer the questions and topics would die very quickly.

The point of general gassing is that you can a wide variety of opinions from owners of a wide variety of cars and that is why "What Car?" threads work so well in there.

If you are looking for more in depth car chat then it is worth jumping into some of the sub-forums. They might not be as busy but you'll get a very different kind of reply.
