Another ask for you helpful lot. smile

I'm looking for ideas of where to park for AC/DC at Hampden. I know the surrounding area can be a bit of a nightmare on event days...I was involved with it all when Bon Jovi played there. grumpy

We'd be arriving from the north and don't mind a wee bit of walk if you can recommend some street which is safe and has easy access back to the motorway for heading home.

What about parking at the big ASDA?
No doubt have restrictions for big games but not sure about concerts?

And if you are confident about the parking laws then just park there anyway and ignore any ticket they give you if its the same private companies that operate the hospital car parking.

Seems to be a common dilema ..its also mentioned in trip adviser website !!

A few cars from Moray are going down . We are staying in a hotel near the Airport - good B & B deal - however a bit concerned about getting thru the city at rush hour time then find parking !!!

What time is AC/DC on the stage - 9pm ? [ notice that the gates open at 4pm according to the tickets received today..]

You can park behind the hospital buildings that face Queens Park.
If coming from North, take M8 over Kingston Bridge.
Take M77 Junction.
Exit M77 at J1.
Follow road to left and keep going straight past Morrisons on right, Honda on left, to Crossmaloof train station,
Turn right and head up to Shawlands cross.
Straight through crossroads and follow until big roundabout.
Take first exit and park up.
Leaves a 10-15min walk.
To get home go back to cross roads and turn right.
Follow road until Carling Academy and turn left.
That takes you back to Kingston Bridge.

You could have just said park outside the Viccy (Victoria Infirmary)! I'm sure most satnavs will have it as a destination!

Thanks KB S1, I appreciate your reply. I've checked it out on google maps and, yes, it does look like the right area for coming in from the north [and getting out again].

Not many will take you in that route and there are several buildings to the Viccy and not all suitable for the purpose required.
The buildings I am suggesting are not actually part of the hospital, they are something to do with a trust hence why I gave directions as I could not give a definite name to them.
