not too much CGI? Trailer certainly hints at this.

All I can say is lots and lots of noise. At times I'd got no idea which big robot was hitting which big robot, it was just a melee of noise, more noise, some noise, followed by incase you missed the other collection of noise, yet more louder noise.

INCREDIBLE film!

Not quite as good as the first one as they play up the comedy a little too much, the "story" (such that it is) doesn't make an awful lot of sense and they should have scrubbed out a few of the transformer characters (the 'twins' are very anonnying).

However, all this is forgiven for the special effects (this is going to a must-own for the blueray/massive HD tv brigade) and secondly for the women that is Megan Fox.

If you're a man and and you don't enjoy her first apperance in the film then you're either gay or clinically dead. Wow.

The perfect man movie.

A lot more use of CGI in this one. Just comparing the two,it seems that in two years that the effects have moved on quite a bit.

I was quite impressed by the Major Lennox character, tapping the bonnet of the G.M.C truck(Ironside)(in the opening scenes)and it transforming. I know its a small detail. But quite impressed by that.

Still love the Camaro(Bumblebee)(Will own one soon). And nice early shots of the concept Corvette(Sideswipe)I hope it makes it in to production.

Such an amazing film, saw it yesterday, special effects are mind-blowing! Somehow Megan Fox has managed to get even hotter since the last one! Never a bad thing.
May go see it again actually...

Worth seeing it again on a cheap week day ticket just to see it on the big screen again, really is one of those big screen films. Nothing to do with Miss Fox bent over the motorbike near the start of course.

I get the impression that the writer's meetings went something like:

Writer: Okay, I'm sketching out the major storylines here.

Michael Bay: Listen to me, this has got to be the most awesome film ever!

W: Here's the opening scene with the R8.

MB: Crap. More explosions, faster action. I want everyone in the first two rows to have an epilectic fit.

W: This is the first scene with Megan Fox.

MB: Crap. Put her on a motorbike in hot pants. And make her sweaty and oily.

W: Here's the fight with Optimus Prime.

MB: Crap. More explosions, less talking.

W: Here's the final battle.

MB: Crapola! Explosions. Slo-mo. Sweaty Megan Fox running in slo-mo.

W: We've got 20 minutes to fill.

MB: Make everything without dialogue slow motion.
