Getting close to road ready so I'm working on some wiring issues. My headlights go up and down normally but the high beam indicator light stays on no matter what I do. Also it is missing the flash diode (there is a 15 amp fuse in it now) if I take that out no lights. Any ideas? Also anybody know where I can come up with the diode for it?

Also, it had a non stock switch in it and I just got one from Marshall. Does anybody know where the wires go on the stock switch? Of course just with everywhere else on the car the harness was cut and the original connector is gone.

The fuse in place of diode will be causing the main beams to be on all the time. The diode is nothing fancy; a 1N4007 will be more than man enough, just crimp a couple of 1/4" spade connectors to the leadout wires and plug it into the holder (get it the right way round, of course).

What colour wires do you have? If they're all black you have your work cut out... biggrin

OK, again from memory... brown is probably permanent 12v ie the main feed to the switch.

Blue probably headlamps feed to the dip/main switch on the steering column (assuming you have that switch wink)

Whatever's left will be the sidelights feed.

So with switch OFF you'd have 12v on the brown, nothing on the others.

Switch in first position, 12v on brown and 12v on the sidelight feed...

Switch in second position, 12v on all three wires. I think there may need to be a link across two of the switch terminals, let me know what you find and I'll try to paint a more accurate picture!

Yeah I think the brown is the hot all the time. The back of the switch has wire attachements though and of course it doesn't appear to be a removable one so you can see what is coming on when you move it. From the car it has 1 blue which does go to the dip switch and 2 reds 1 which is a nice heavy 10-12 gauge wire, the other maybe a 16. I'm assuming one of them is for the marker lights and the other is for the interior lights but didn't have much time to look at it as the ball joint removal didn't go so well.
