Been looking at superchargers etc and the cost is far too much. What I wanna know is if I bought a charger for say a mustang would it still work on a monaro with correct pipes and brackets of course or are the internals matched to different cars, cheers

The superchargers are generic.

But you must buy one that is suitable for your application. THere are doezens of different sizes, and confifurations.
And also make sure there is bracketry available for whatever you buy.

In short.....just buy a proper kit unless you are 100% certain, or you could end up with a paperweight.

So i'm better looking for one suited to an ls1 then as long as it has the right bracket the pipe work is easily made up, another question what type/ size of intercooler is needed

No, you are better buying a supercharged intended to fit whatever bracketry you want to use, provided that SC is also capable of supplying enough air to achieve the power goals.

The type of engine is totally irrelevant.

As for intercooler. You need an intercooler large enough that it isnt restrictive, and will cool the air sufficiently for your application...which will of course depend on how much boost and how efficient your chosen supercharger is, and once again, anticipated power output.

And once again.....buying a kit, will save you so much grief and hassle, it will be worth the extra cost.
