the alternate ending at least makes some sense of it - the standard ending just creates 100 plot holes and was clearly not in the original screenplay (obviusly, they left the novel long before that!)
Alternative Ending? Is that on the DVD? (I never look at the extras). Is it a happier ending? SkinnyBoy said:
Will Smith couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag. I don't get why people rave about him, i think he's a comedy actor but serious stuff even 7 pounds, I just can't get past the Fresh Prince!
Ali.The Pursuit of Happyness.
If you think that isn't great acting, you have brain failure.

It's not the best film in the world, but it's still way better than Cloverfield...
agreed, a truly awful film, promised so much yet the delivery was just painful.I was watching some clips on the 'tube last night from a competition to do a short movie intro for the Greg Bear book "Eon" although the entries were good, I hope they do not give some muppet in Hollywood an idea to try and make a full feature film, its one of those books thats best left as a book, no amount of special effects could even begin to give the book justice, same thinking they should of done with I am Legend
The trailer is here if anyone is interested.

I was massively disapointed with the film. I read the book eons ago and the film seems to completly miss the point of the original. It was a let down to say the least.
This.Did the people who made the movie even read the book.
Awful film.
Which is a pity because the book was great and could have made a properly good film if done well.

I thought the main point of the book was the ending - yet for some reason the film as a Holywood Happy ending....In the book the Neville is captured by the Vampires. They have formed a new society and are starting to rebuild. Neville is the last human immume to infection, by hunting the vampires during the day he is the monster. He is a "legend" in the new society and the Vampires are terrified of him.
What is the alternative ending - is it the same as the book? Somehow I doubt it....
