Stealth Mode for contentious/problematic topics?

Periodically, we see people starting a post with "using another account to avoid identification" or some such.

What about an "incognito" mode, for members of certain standing (say, a year or so many posts, or whatever metric) so that they could post "difficult" topics without fear of identification? To avoid abuse, when a "incognito" topic is created, the mod team are alerted so that they can take action if the use of "incognito" mode is inappropriate.

Just a thought.

I realise that many people have a distinctive posting style and such a facility would be the internet forum equivalent of this:



But for some it'd be useful.

Cos that'd make me very nervous if I wanted to post such a topic - it's very hard to guard against someone making a genuine mistake and letting something slip...

They probably know now, if they can be bothered, by the simple ruse of matching IP addresses and users.

Dropping the silly for a second, is there some clause by which a PH user has any - dare I say the word - right not to have their identity, location etc disclosed by the Powers That Be? I'm reminded that at some point in the past Ted had a bit of a run-in along those lines...

Some of this is covered in the terms and conditions. To be honest common decency covers most things. If you were to find out who someone is would you post it? Probably not, and nor would I. We were all, and still are, normal PHer's. We're here because we love cars like most other people registered here. Although if you look at some peoples profile it's obvious that whilst they know what a car is, all they really want to do is talk bkss in The Lounge.
