Just how much do you want to go again and why ?

Well its been a week since we were all down La Sarthe way and I have to say compared to a lot of events its the one that really burns into your memory , the anticipation , the journey and the whole weekend , even though it goes at a million miles an hour. For any true petrolhead it just has to be the biggy , probably because its not just a one nighter , a truly international event with so many places to be around the circuit or in LM town. I have promised myself next year I will be doing the classic in my old car as thats really my bag but I keep hearing this voice in my head... Go on do them both

I've been doing the 24 hrs since 2003 when the Bentleys won One and Two in my BRG MG Midget. First time out my mate Nick and I just camped at the side of Antares Car Park on the Saturday night. We drove down overnight and stayed at Gacé going and coming back

I have been back every year in the Midge, with Nick once more and another guy a year later.

Since then I have been solo, camping in Houx Annexe and this year in Bleu Nord with other Sprite or Midget owners

The point of which is to say, why wait for a classic to go in your own classic

Le Mans is a great leveller, I am sure I have just as much fun in my Midget as anyone else does in their Evocosupercars

Only downside is not much room for camping gear AND dutyfree in a Midge

Got to go, that's it. Best weekend of the year for me. Thirty on the trot next year but then another twenty to make it fifty on the trot.

consider yourselves lucky - this year I forgot it was my sisters wedding on the saturday, so my weekend went something like, drive down Thursday, Le Mans town and track Friday, drive home Friday night, arriving Sat morning in time to don a different cravatt and go the church!

So - yes, cant stress how much im looking forward to next year, cos I might actually get to see the race!

Next year will be 26 on the trot & I've no intention of giving up, ever!

Same here - it's just a given now, and I have to say I did enjoy going down on the Wednesday and making it a slightly longer trip. The extra day seemed to add a disproportionate amount of time to the weekend, but it may also have been down to the six hour free practice session on the Wednesday night - I hope they keep that rather than having the test day beforehand.

As for the Classic, I had to correct SWMBO the other day - I mentioned the classic and the fact that I might take dad there, and she asked if that was instead of going to the main race.... For some reason she seemed to think it was a case of one *OR* the other.... Still, at least she's clear on that one now

One of our lads had a wedding to go to but didn't want to miss the weekend so he had the following journey:

Weds AM down with us in convoy
Friday night drive to Paris
Paris flight to Luton
Rental car to Wedding (Kent I believe)
Back to Luton
Flight to Paris
Drive back to Le Mans Sunday AM to catch the rest of the race
Monday PM drive back with the rest of the group

That's dedication to the cause!

Personally I'm still a, ahem, "mature student" with statutory minimum holiday, so Le Mans is pretty much the only holiday I've had for the last 4 years (including working between Christmas and New Years). Would I change it? Would I bks!!!!! Roll on 2010

There are obviously some hard core Le Mans people out there , just like this guy I met last year , about ten years ago he wanted to stay somewhere really close to the track and so now he has a long standing arrangement with a local resident , his tent is always pitched in that front garden for LM weekend every year , deafeningly close to the track , he loves every moment.

I haven't been to the main event for 4 years and will try hard to be there next year, even if it's only a Friday/Saturday return Sunday blast as we're doing the Classic again. This year I went to the Nurburgring and for all it's plus points, it's no Le Mans and I want to see those LMP's in action again..

I've been to 7 Le Mans since my first trip in 2000. I'm considering the classic next year, just for a change, but I can't help worrying that I'll regret missing the main event. I was inconsolable for the two Le Mans I missed, and one of those years it was my honeymoon. Unfortunately, funds won't allow me to do both

The classic is great but very different from the 24hr.

Its a lot quieter and more restrained. Biggest plus point is there are no chavs.

Its getting bigger every year though so I expect next years to be very popular

Thinking about going next year with a few mates

This one was the best out of the last four that I have been to. I think that it was a mix of:

Staying on a great site (Porsche Club GB) at the Porsche Curves.

A fantastic journey there and back due in part to catching the ferry from Hull, 25 mins from my house instead of schlepping all the way down to Kent, and having two nice relaxing nights of pre and post race drinking and eating and a decent bed.

A small bunch of top guys.

Making the most of everything, from St Saturnin and Mulsanne, to walking back up the track after the finish and then driving the cars back onto the track at Porsche Curves

So much so I was going to alternate between the 24 HRS and the Classic each year ... now I have to break it to Vicki that I might not be able to go to Spain for her mate's 40th next June as it clashes with the 24 HRS!
