The Griff has gone!

finally the griff went back home to TVR power not before breaking down again outside my house just didnt want to go back home on the truck without a fight at least the 3 lanes of traffic stopped to look at me pushing it 100yrd to the trailer!


and guess what?


the chim is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi griff owners as a 4.0hc chim owner waiting for it to be repaired after being hit from behind i must say the power from a 500 is a different level WOW! i want one! mmm do i really want my chim 400hc back? well we will see

After careful consideration i was merely talking about the 500 engine () and the answer to my question about do i want my chim back should have been YES! griff 3 months broke down 4 times on back AA truck 3 times heater hose perished/split twice major power steering fluid leak which i fixed ignition module failure clutch master cylinder failure v shaped cracked windscreen thats all after 2 months! even broke down getting on the back of the truck to go back to TVR! various electical problems but hey at least the battery never went flat!




seriously i did like the interior door handles!

You were incredibly unlucky. No reason why a Griff shouldn't be as reliable as a Chim if looked after.

And this is the sad point,im pretty sure your whole outlook on the Griff would have been a hell of a lot differnet if the loan car you had was in a decent condition,i did sneak a peak under the bonnet when it was on your drive,and it didnt look like it had much attention,hence the repeated breakdowns,like all cars they need to be looked after,glad you got your chim back now....... im now the fastest tvr owner in the area ha ha

Honestly I think both cars are bloody brilliant. I always wanted a Griff, but when I saw a Chim in reality I liked it more and went for that.
Now a friend of mine has bought a Griff and I envy him because of his 500 engine. I find the Chim looks more elegant and a Griff looks like a brute force driving machine.

Well John, dare I to say but..... my wife won't let me have one.

Ok now I am outing myself as a complete wimp. But after my crash(which wasn't my fault at all) my wife was afraid that I could have another accident if I had a faster car.
so I bought another Chim 400.
What she does not know is that I also bougth Clives old 500 engine . I want to use my car now that we have summer ( only on the calendar though, it is pissing down the last couple of days) and during winter I will take my body off to do some outrigger work and then slip the engine in.

Its no original 500 but I am sure it will give me an even bigger grin than I already have now.
