Golf MK5 - Ignition Barrel failing?
Hi there,
Can anyone tell me if it is common on a MK5 Golf to encounter this problem?
Problem I have is the white plastic thing won’t retract when inserting the key into the ignition barrel, not sure if this is a common fault or not. Or is me putting damaging it each time I insert the key????
I’ve had the car since new 05 plate and its failed on me twice, the first time it was replaced under warranty this time I’m going to have to pay for it to be fixed. No doubt at a dealer since they need to code the immobiliser and keys together.
Any idea how much this would cost?
How long does the warranty last for the replaced part? I had it changed about 18 months ago, wondering if has a 2 yr warranty on that 1 part, if so I might be able to get the work done free?
