Saw one today, thought it looked and sounded amazing. Far more presence than an f40. I know people have always loved the f40 but surely the f50 is the better car? So rare, and with its hardtop on almost enzo like! Got to be a sleeper?

I prefer the F40. Looks wise, the F50 has never done it for me.

Was that a metallic grey F50?

Almost certainly - I can't imagine that there is more than 1 in the UK. The grey car parked outside the Dorchester was actually on hire.

It would be one of the first cars I would buy if I won the lottery. Has been the poster car for me since I was little. The F40 is great but the F50 just does it for me.

Oh, and the sound cloud9

I've had a ride in one at Donington. I have to say it was mental, the noise and the sheer presence. It is certainly no shrinking violet but you have to hand it to Ferrari for pursuing what they are best at.

Enzo, Carrera GT, SLR, and Veyron followed.

I won't say which one won my vote!

I'd have the F50 over the F40 I reckon, just appeals more but they're two different cars....

If the F40 sounded like the F50 and the F50 looked like the F40 you'd have the perfect car! wink

I've seen that car in Alderly Edge before parked in a side street rather than the main street as pictured here!! Who does it belong too? One of our friends from Old Trafford perhaps???

Its the front end, its just ugly im sorry. Otherwise its quite good looking, and sounds awsome.

Id also like to take this point to bash the 355 a little. Its not that amazing. Its just a wedge, hardly one of the most pretty ferraris ever. Its sounds epic, but its not that fast either really. I personally rate stuff like the 512TR much higher.

I've been very lucky in hat I've passengered in and driven a lot of exotic cars, but the passenger ride I had in an F50 about eleven years ago really stands out as a highlight!
The noise and the incredible in gear acceleration is wonderful.
We travelled at some very naughty speeds too!

I've not been in an F40, I would very much like to though, so I can't compare them, but from what I've read and through experience of owning turbocharged cars I imagine the power delivery to feel harsher and more exciting...?

But for me a Ferrari should have a V12, same goes for Lamborghini too!

love the F50. Incredible car for the time it was launched and still state of the art today. A great investment at current prices too.

On hire? Wasn't it for sale at Joe Macari's? I just presumed he'd parked it there for the publicity. If so, it worked a treat!

I agree it must be a good investment. I know 400.00 pounds is a hell of a lot of money, but that's only half of an Enzo or a Zonda f. Evo magazine described the f50 as an 'Enzo clubsport' and as 'the best drivers Ferrari'. I'm sure we will be reading a lot more about them in future years.

Much better in red though!!
