We sat in silence for an hour whilst the pace car was out, gagging for a smoke BUT there was a Marshall post and Gendarme 10-20 yds to our right, another 50 yds to our left and a single marshal opposite side of the track. We were dug in tightly, having been led to the site by 4 members of the resistance.
A proper Call of Duty moment (well not really but the Stella made it feel that way).
Funny thing was, after trekking through woods, fields, brambles, cow s
t, the horse racing course, industrial estates and canine guarded back gardens to get there we simply upped sticks and walked back in half the time on a main road located all but 30 seconds from our trench.
BUT it was all worthwhile.

or you could have stood less than 2m from the armco at the gate of field behind the chinese cafe with a cool beer and a pack of smokes

We got stopped just by the roundabout after BSJ so took to the campsite on our right and went jumping over fences, scrambling through bushes, ditches, sports fields and forests whilst hiding from every car that drove past.
One such ditch we were hiding in we noticed "normal people" walking past, some even peering down into the ditch probably wondering what the hell we were doing. At this point we decided to abandon the covert op and instead strode right past the guy we had been hiding from for the past hour, up the road, past the 'BUT' warehouse and stood 2 meters behind the marshals. They didn't say a word.
Was still a bloody good laugh though.

Great video.. captures the mood well..
Here's mine, from further back just before braking zone for 1st chicane on Mulsanne. Wish it was longer but had the camera at arms length through the bottom of the barrier

I hear what you are saying, but getting lashed and running through the woods acting like a child is all part of the fun. Pushing our 6ft tall 16stone pissed pal over a 7ft wall only to hear him thud to the ground on the other side was also priceless. Getting the cow s
t off my trainers was admittedly a bit of a bind.
....and BTW what on earth are you doing being in any fit state to drive on the Saturday night?!?

Yes, that's a great viewing point too. Used to go there on the Sunday before it started getting hired out to a private group. Was it open to all again this year???
Not sure about the daytime but we paid 10e to get in there about 3.30am on Sunday, car park was busy but not crazy, bar was still open and very few people viewing. Here's my "black ops" moment

Only a blackberry used for filming, so not perfect...
