Don't know why i'm posting this. got in from work at 7am, got online and found one of my friends took her life on Friday, aged 24. Don't know why etc yet, or anything further. Just feel like a part of me has gone. used to work together all the time, 24hr shifts, had a right laugh together. She was a cracking mate.

RIP Alex - may you party like never before. Keep an eye on us all mate.

Thing i cant get is that i deal with death ok. I see dead people every week or so, deal with families, undertakers, decomposed bodies and stuff. None of this phases me, even the smell. I find this out, and its knocked me for six.

That's exactly why you're posting about it Tim.

Because it helps to talk about losing your mate.
Hope it's not too hard for you to deal with.

Best wishes.

No-on had any idea as far as i know. I know she didn't like the job anymore ( we used to work together for 3yrs), and had a few debts, but was seen happy on friday by friends, and found friday/saturday by her mum having taken her life. Dont know all the full details, still waiting for her best mates to pass them on.

so sorry to hear stuff like this and my condolences, but i find this kind of thing annoying when someone can be so selfish that they can take their life and leave so many lives in choas and not talking to people could have stopped another life being thrown away needlessly.

Sorry if harsh, but just gone through a few weeks of hell myself, but wouldnt even contimplate something like this even if my worst fears are realised.

This reminds me of the 'Suicide' thread some time ago, it's in the P&P archive I think. Have a read, it gets views from all sides.

Sorry to hear, OP. frown

Never nice when things like this happen. I've lost a few friends to this and while it's a horrendous shock and you'll inevitably be thinking "Could I have seen the signs?" "Could I have done more?" you can't stand over someone 24 hours a day, and ultimately people make their own decisions, painful as that may be.

We all have a point at which we can take no more. I've been almost sure I'd reached mine a couple of times - apparently not. Not confident that any of us still breathing can make a call on that one, suicide attempt survivors excepted.

You sound very judgemental IMHO.

We have absolutely no idea of her state of mind when she did this, or her personal situation.
