RenaultSport Clio 200 cup
Discussion
Hi Folks,
first post on the forum so be gentle.
after reading reviews and stuff on here i am quite interested in trading up to one of the above.
however i have ran into a small problem in that i cant find any dealers north of the border, around the central belt preferably, which has a car which i can go and view.
i dont mind buying over the internet but would like to see a car in the metal first.
if anybody here knows of a demonstartor or showroom car any info would be gratefully rec'd
cheers
Richi

Definitely post up on Renaultsport.co.uk as a lot of the Renault staff use it too. Someone will locate a demo for you.
I drove one round the Bedford southwest circuit on Friday and it was great fun, you won't be disappointed!
out of interest....was it the cup you drove or the normal one??I drove one round the Bedford southwest circuit on Friday and it was great fun, you won't be disappointed!
if it was the cup, can i ask what the interior was like??
after reading the thread in GG about it that is what i really want to see for myself
Cheers

Interior is best described as "functional" I think. It is quite basic but the recaros are nice and the driving position is fine.
If you want a small hot hatch for track then i can't see it putting you off.
I am seriously considering it :-)
Need to wait and see if my circumstances change regards work.
I should be starting a new jobhopefully, in a couple of weeks which is going to take my daily mileage from about 3 to 20 miles per day.
I am running a Corrado VR6 just now and am not sure how well the old girl would stand up to regular mileage getting piled on plus the fuel bills wouldnt be pretty lol.
Wait and see what happens with the job then need to source the best deal

Being a Renault there will be huge discounts on new cars. They may not be widley publicised but they will be there. Need to wait and see if my circumstances change regards work.

Getting onto Renaultsport.co.uk will get you in touch with the dealers who are open to doing good deals. For example, R26.R's were going for around £19-20k even with most of the options.

spoke to my local dealer last night and the list price is £15750 but he could do it for £13500, then could send the Corrado to the big scrapyard in the sky or try to sell it .
then of course there is here

You'd get one for £13k from a dealer easily.
IIRC, the original 197 cup could be had for £12k?
be very interested if this was the case....read the evo review last night. sounds like a peach of a car!IIRC, the original 197 cup could be had for £12k?
