What a pile of ste this programme is..not a patch on top gear. Maybe its the crap presenters, maybe the "copycat" tasks taken from top gear?

Give it up pleeeeeeaaaaasssssssee!!
And before any one uses the old "yeah but they give a better reveiw of the car routine" dont bother because at the end of the day we watch top gear for the stunts and pranks not for an indepth knowledge of cars.

For gods sake channel 5 cut yer losses and run!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy both and know quite a few who do, Top Gear is quite a bit more entertaining (imo) but it's not as if you're being forced to watch one or the other, you can watch both?

Well let me see.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the best CAD draughtsman in the world, but I still seem able to attract enough people who want me to do it to make it pay. But perhaps I should just give up anyway...?

Isn't that the point? FG is not the same program as TG.

I like F1 so why bother showing MOTD? One sports program is enough surely?

5th Gear doesn't have anywhere near the same budget remember...but I still agree, its dire. Even the so called informative bits are so full of untruths and general misinformation I find my waste fluid overheating.

IMO Fifth Gear got pretty close to perfection in the last Episode of Season 9 when Tiff did the Enzo v F1 on road. See link below 12min 15sec to 22min 05 sec:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Top-Gear-Season...

When they came back for the next series they had obviously started to follow the Top Gear lead.

But to me they should go back to finding nice cars (new and used) and reviewing them.

Just like the origianl Performance Car magazine.

Keep Fifth Gear but get rid of Used Car Roadshow.

Watched it for the first and last time yesterday. What a load of bobbins.

I'm grateful that there are any car type programs on mainstream TV, but i do mostly record the show and fast forward some bits because they're so lame.

Still would rather have 5th Gear than no 5th Gear, after all, you could always 'go and do something less boring instead' wink

It was the first time I'd watched it for ages. The presenters were pretty groansome!!

IMO they'd be better going back to being the 'sensible' choice instead of trying to ape Top Gear.

I enjoy both. TG is great fun but 5th Gear has cars I might actually own.

I think they're both OK, but do a different job. TG tries to up the entertainment stakes, whereas FG is more your 'man on the street's, practical motoring' (occassionally).

Some of the things FG do are different, but they'll always be playing second fiddle to TG, which is a shame because if TG weren't around FG would be OK for most of us.

The real thing that let's FG is the presenters - those two in the studio don't gel, hate each other...or both. Needell is a talented driver, but he struggles to be natural when trying to be passionate. Baked Potato's OK, Jonny's different but watchable, and VBH is alright...me and the misses are still trying to work out if she' married yet.

If you don't like either, then feel free to watch something else or make something better.

Did anyone see the intro before FG where Five have their logo/video piece? It was a motorway flyover in a city, viewed from above, with traffic on it and this hand comes up from under the flyover and sweeps the traffic up. I quite enjoyed that.

Quite like it meself. Really don't understand all the hate TBH, maybe that's because I remember what TG was like before it was the Clarkson stand-up show.

Aye, back in the day TG was actually a serious motoring show.

Made me smile at the beginning of Sunday's episode when they did the trailer for what was coming, and in amongst all the hyper and supercars and lads playing about was a VW Scirocco. I thought, that's a refugee from 5th gear shurley.
