Martin

My Cerb goes over the smaller bumbs with ease. Not had any problems so far. All depends on how large they are.

Speed bumps put in by the council are usually OK. "Private" ones not necessarily so. There was one at my local golf club with a dip in front of it -- the first time I went there I graunched the bottom of the Cerb on it.

Solution: I changed golf clubs

Actually, I did change "clubs" at pretty much the same time. But now I have more of them = more weight

I know what you mean, taken up the game recently myself, its frightening how much you can spend Never mind it's only money

On the subject of speed bumps, I find mine OK over the longer ones, its the ones where your car is "beached" are the problem.

Well, if you've taken it up recently I can tell you it gets easier after the first 15 years

Haven't had a problem so far with the Cerb ... my (ex-)wife used to have to get out and walk for the Caterham to clear the ones in the drive though.

Never really had a problem with speed bumps but I do go extra careful and slow over them.

Beware though, I had 3 adult passengers in mine (no, not midgets!) the other day and after the first two speed bumps I made them walk I nearly got stranded!

FYI Speed humps are according to the goverment regulation only supposed to be a maximum height of 75mm with the flat top ones being 100mm if they are above that you can take the land owners/council through the small claims court for damages

Actually beached the Cerb on speed hump, road sloped either side the bump effectively making it that bit taller than normal. Bolt heads in the main chassis rails got stuck in the tarmac, rear wheels just span.

Solution: Open boot, wife inside boot, lots of welly! No damage to bolt heads, big scrape on the hump.

I'm personally finding speed bumps a nightmare, in the 1 mile journey to work i would have to endure no less than 8, hence a 3 mile detour.
I decided to have the lower front painted at the end of last month (previous owners scratches), A Birmingham city centre bump on a one way street put paid to the nice paint job on saturday.
£500 and it lasted all of a week !
I find leaving down hill drives doesn't do it to much good either.
It is a rollover tonight isn't it ?
