Somehow I think if they got rid of the two buffoons who present the show, it might be ok?

its a better format than when they where at the ace cafe. the lowest ever point was when that ugly nonce tim lovejoy was presenting. get rid of the long haired fat bloke and the other gimp and it will be even better. one thing i miss is the head to head testing at ty croes.

I like Tom and Johnny actually, but can't help thinking they wish they were on Top Gear instead.

yesI can't decide whether the Top Gear team have some serious talent or whether the 5th Gear lot are just incompetent.

Yes. All three of the younger blokes are a bit crap and try far too hard to be cool.

Tiff and plato are fine but most of the segments are a bit cheap, too short and completely non-factual. Not that top gear is much better but at least they have the budget and quality presenters to make it interesting.

Even the whole Italian job stunt just looked very tame to me.

The difference between 5th Gear and Top Gear is that if Top Gear had done that they would have used a bus, gone to the Alps driven onto the bus, dumped the Minis and left the boys in the bus teetering on the edge of a cliff forcing them to come up with their own solutions to save themselves and the gold. Points awarded for the best solution, points lost if they fell to their deaths with 12 tons of bus on top of them.

5th Gear tries to do these "fun" parts but seem to have missed out the fun. What the hell was the point of the Porsche/Z4 slide between the cardboard boxes? Very cheap tv.

It is clear to say that Top gear has a bigger budget, but 5th Gear is apalling TV, I have found myself getting up and mowing the lawn instead of watching the program.

It was ok whilst it was trying to fill the gap left by old top gear - but now they are trying to emulate new top gear - it is just pure crap. Some of the dialogue is cringingly bad - I stopped watching when shoot Tim Lovejoy joined - the fake banter between him and VBH was vomit

Yes it's crap.
But it's about cars - which makes it better than 90% of TV programmes. You always get to see Tiff demonstrating some wheelsmanship - you don't get that on Hollyoaks

It's much worse than it used to be, they've moved away from car testing and are trying to emulate Top Gear but without the budget. The presenters are okay, apart from that tt Tim Shaw, and they've got 3 racing drivers on the team why not use them properly?

I quite like 5th Gear at the moment, I didn't used to.

I think the current team are a nice bunch.

Compared to what? TG? If so then no, not really. One is no better or no worse than the other.

I can never quite work out whether the people behind the series are trying really hard but are just talentless, or they're actually good at making TV shows but just don't care.

Either way it's dreadful. The 'test' last series between the Lotus 2-Eleven and Caterham(?) was pathetic - basically carrying boxes around. They even admitted that it was something no-one would ever do with those cars... That was the point when I finally gave up.

Fifth Gear would be 10 times better if Tim Shaw got booted out.

As would Top Gear if they got shot of Hammond.

Its all tripe.

The sound test between the two hard top convertibles was awful, tooting a horn while not moving with a sound meter in the car! What about wind noise, tyre noise etc

Idiots

Still like VBH

Top Gear have an awesome production team and way bigger budget. I think this has a big effect.

Kill Clarkson and Hamond, send May and the TG producers/cameramen/etc to work with Tiff and VBH and I'd be happy.
