Hi guys,
Have owned my XKR for just over a year now, still loving it but there have been a couple of issues and wondered whether anyone could shed some light on.

Since the day I owned it there has been an issue with the handbrake. When you try to apply, i get the error message 'park brake fault' and it doesn't engage. There is a little whine as it attempts to apply but then the error message. Car has been in 3 times now, each time it comes back it seems to have been fixed, but a day later the problem is back. Is this a problem anyone else has had? Following on from this, don't know if it is related, but gave the car a good clean/polish at the weekend, whilst cleaning the interior i must have pulled the switch for the handbrake as warning light came on, no big deal, turn off/restart it disappears, but when i drove to work the following morning i got a really strong shaking when driving on the motorway, felt like the wheels were about to fall off. I pulled over to take a look, everything seemed fine. I pulled away and the problem was gone - very strange!!!

The other issue is with the wheels, they are the high shine wheels, standard on portfolio, but they seem to be discoloring quite a lot, it looks like what can only be described as white blisters all over them - has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance for any comments...

Can't help with the handbrake issue I'm afraid but the wheels one sounds like the lacquer is lifting.

Alloy wheel can be porous and moisture can get through from the inside and work its way back out.

Sorry to say I've heard of both these issues on the Portfolio before, don't know why these cars have been affected. Jag have to fix the hand brake, 3 times is good will on your part, although being easy for me to say, this needs to be escalated with Jaguar.

As for the wheels, they should be a straight forward warranty change. Jaguar did have issues with these BBS alloys. BBS subsequently went bankrupt, hence Jag being stuck with only 1 20inch wheel type for so long. Again, Jag should fix without Q.
