Bike Insurance
Discussion
Any recommendations?
SWIMBO has just "saved" us money by changing the buildings / contents insurance to a new company. Trouble is she didn't choose the cycle cover! Having had my Specialised Stumpy Pro stolen last year, and finding out it wasn't insured, I don't want to go the same way again!

We're with M&S for contents, they cover quite a large value for the garage too and a bit extra for my bikes at an extra charge. Not sure if they insure individually though i'm afraid.
Do you have particularly expensive bikes? We're also insured with M&S, and one of the main reasons I took out the policy was because they covered bikes up to (iirc) £5k without any extra cost.
According to their webpage http://money.marksandspencer.com/insurance/home-in...
"Do you insure bicycles?
Yes, and you do not need to specially mention a bicycle unless it is valued at £4000 or more.
The Contents section will cover your bicycles when it is in your home, an outbuilding or in your garden. The Cover Away From Home section of the policy will provide worldwide cover when they are temporarily removed from your home, including being taken abroad.

No more expensive than other people I suppose, it's the volume of bikes I have that meant I chose to supplement the policy, for an extra few quid i'd rather have the policy air tight if the need arose. We're also insured with M&S, and one of the main reasons I took out the policy was because they covered bikes up to (iirc) £5k without any extra cost.
