With all the FI talk on here recently has anybody noticed one of the advertisers here has stopped selling the 122 S/C?

Has it now been replaced by the VS thingy everybody is talking about?

We are shipping the last few 122's to dealers at the moment....the next shipments will be 1900 and 2300 sizes, with larger to follow.

Larger to follow?
Im guessing thats only for built setups Sir?
Did Harrop ever finish their TK twin screws?

Sounds like its best to get one of the new TVS blowers then. Efficiency is always nice, even if its in a supercharger.

I think as a used item the 122 is still a bloody good blower. Munky's motor makes 700 at the flywheel and there are savings to be had on new. The only reason I sold mine was the TVS came up at the right price and it made sense for my build. The 5th gen blowers make a great noise also!

Why do you want to buy it?

Nope, it is actually a good blower. I doubt there is much between it and the TVS1900 in terms of output.

So, all this extra power from bigger S/C means stock internals will be unable to cope then?

Not at all, you just spin it slower. Roger has over 500hp at the wheels on an otherwise stock LS2, Munky has about 550 at the wheels on a forged and cammed LS2. I ran a 122 on my stock 5.7 LS1 for a while. Unless you go stupid with the rest of your build the 122 is a good little unit and fine for most people.

Here it was on mine running 8psi for 537hp at the wheels:

Is that really a RWHP figure! Not wanting to start the whole dyno debate again, but that is an amazing figure for just that blower @ 8psi. Where there other supporting mods? What are the LS2's standard 400 FWHP?

His car is stroked, cammed and low compression, I`d say the numbers are about right.

With a TVS2300 he should be able to run higher airflow to raise his psig to give at least another 100

Yep, here's the thread of my build: www.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?p=6&f=69&t=558632&h=27

658hp at the flywheel. It's amazing what heads and a cam can do!

If you were running a totally standard LS2 block with no intentions of altering it would the 2300 be a total waste?

Ah OK so the blower is probably adding 150 or so of those horses. That makes much more sense, cheers.

Yes, as the std engine can make no use of the increase in airflow the 2300 would give over the 122.
