More delimiter problems

Entering [url]textmore text|url[/url] causes the [url] pair to be displayed and not executed.

An annoying error

Entering text in the 'Message:' box and not entering text in the 'New Topic:' box generates an error message. All well and good, but the message indicates that one should press the 'back button' and enter the missing text. When one does so, the 'Message:' box is blank, all text entered having been lost.

Fair point on the message posting thing. I'll modify that.

What do you mean by 'more text' in the URL tag problem? (Usually that effect is caused by missing out the http:// in the link).

Ted - try this:

With italicised and normal text:
[url]link in italicised text and normal text|www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=71082&f=24&h=0[/url]

With italicised text only:
[url]link in italicised text|www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=71082&f=24&h=0[/url]

Without italicised text:
link in normal text

The difference is only the inclusion of the [ i ][ /i ] pair.

The link BTW is to this thread, so could get recursive it you click it .

Ah... yep, the URL tag won't support formatting within itself. You should be able to italicise around the [url] tags though.
