I am sure somebody in the large PH community can put me towards a nice venue in Lisbon as we are going this weekend
Ideally it is a nice place where you can have excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere- prbably even outside- we are more after excellent local fare and a relaxed atmosphere, than a michelan star experience
Thanks

I was in Lisbon in Nov 2001. So unsurprisingly got a great deal on flights.

As much as I loved Lisbon, I wouldn't go back for the food. (my opinion).

The only 'good' meal we had was at the top of the Hotel Mundial.

Have fun

oh and when the sommelier recommends the green wine, politely decline.

Bonjardim isn't bad if you like piri piri chicken. Cheap too - doesn't look like much but the food is good.

I had an excellent meal in Gambrinus too, excellent restaurant with excellent service. Not cheap but I enjoyed it there. Both of these restaurants are down in the Baixa area.

Lived there briefly a few years ago.

For authentic/rustic food try the Bairro Alto (up from the fenicular railway). In fact that's a great area to explore, lots of back streets with hidden shops, music venues, cafes etc Very boho.

For Portugese food, try Alecrim as Flores (Cais do Sodre). It's small, but I think it has an outside area.
Or Conventual, fantastic surroundings/decor. Really good food.
