At the moment I just seem to be getting an in-box full of people asking for donations for them to go to africa to do 'charity work'. I put it in inverted commas as they mainly seem to be going with companies who 'specialise' in 'doing charity work'. They all have to fund raise quite a lot of cash to be able to go and seem to want me to contribute. When I question further in an attempt to discover who will be getting my cash they don't seem to know.

Don't get me wrong as soon as I am not an unemployed architecture graduate I will be happy to give money to charity, but even then I'm not going to fund someone's feel good holiday to Africa.

And while I am on the subject what is it with those idiots who accost you in the street by going 'whooo isn't it a lovely day come and talk to me' and then follow you telling you about their 'cause' I mean does anyone actually give them any money?

I know poor quality not enough swearing.

Pretty sure you are not obliged to give anything. Do that if this is the way you feel.

Please don't sign up to any of these people in the street, if you want to help that charity get in touch with them direct. The reason is that the people on the street are being paid by a PR company, and that PR company will take up to 25% of the money that you donate.

yes and you know the clothes you donate to various charities, thinking they will be given to people in need? They are sold in African countries.
