Jeep or Similar help
Discussion
My wife is expecting our first child in October 09, she has the idea of trading in her 3 Door Corsa for something larger and would really love a fairly economical jeep or similar.
So far we have looked at the Antara, Captiva and Jeep Compass. The Compass was great apart from the wierd tyre size (£190 a go) and the servicing costs of approx £450 per annum. We have a budget of 12k that could possibly stretch to 15k for something special... Looking for something within warranty for piece of mind and hopefully a low mileage.
Any suggestions or Links ?
Cheers

I have driven/hired out for a few days a Wrangler Jeep unlimited deisel 2.8 Turbo, i was well impressed, very comfy and very smooth, handled well and very quiet, as well as pretty good on fuel, also loved the high up driving position, would love one if i could afford it at this moment in time.

Why, does she want to look like Freddy Mercury? Can't imagine what would attract you to one of these things.FRJ79, you could cut an excellent deal on a late Grand Cherokee on that budget, Chrysler offer extended manufacturers waranty,- well worth considering.

Allright, Rob, you tell us what attracts people to Jeeps, other than the WW2 Lee Marvin/Clint Eastwood macho thing.
The sound of the 4.0 blowing through a Borla cat back as I head down to the beach or into the desert at the weekend with the roof down and the doors left at home is what attracted me to pick one up for the mrs out here in Dubai. Wouldn't be seen dead in one in the UK of course unless I was in a remake of Queer as Folk or had real off road need - Wranglers are very capable off road. Rubbish on road of course, but in a so bad it's fun kind of way.
