German GP no longer at Hockenheim

Hockenheim town council have cancelled the F1 contract with Ecclestone as the town makes a yearly loss of 6 Million Euros on the F1 weekend. F1 have said they will not increase any payments or partake in any costs for policeing etc...
As the F1 may well disintegrate anyway this is perhaps a preventional action on behalf of the town council? (On german radio this morning 26.6.09)

Totally agree; now a shadow of its former self. Still no worse than Silverstone, Spa, Nurburgring, Monza etc.

In fact if all the circuits that had been butchered over the years were removed from the F1 calendar, there'd only be Monaco left.

F1 is just Ecclestone's money machine, and he clearly expects to be paid handsomely for allowing an F1 Grand Prix to be staged. (Who has the rights to the brand names 'F1' and 'Grand Prix' anyway?)

We can therefore expect that Grands Prix will be held in the future only in states ready to pay huge sums for prestige and legitimacy. A Zimbabwe Grand Prix perhaps? As such I expect it to have diminishing relevance in established countries with a strong culture of motor sport. It is already a pretty poor spectacle and why should the town of Hockenheim pay £5m Euros in the middle of a depression just to swell Bernie's coffers?

We need to find a new 'elite' form of motorsport which is more challenging, where each country can put a contender forward and hold a race, and where the proceeds are better distributed than they currently are, preferably on facilities in that country.

I quite like touring cars and DTM-style manufacturer challenges; F1 needs new ideas.

Set a 1000BHP limit, and every country's manufacturers and modifiers can compete with whatever type of car they can make, AMG / Apexi / M Division / whatever. Any affiliations and collaborations are allowed across any teams.

Tracks:
1. Nordschleife
2. The road that is in Dubai or Abu Dhabi I think from Top Gear, one way all to the top then back down again.
3. A sand type event, like from Star Wars The Phantom Menace.
4. Ice racing

Also, guns may or may not be allowed I haven't decided yet. I am calling my new type of racing F0 or F Zero, hopefully no one has trade marked it yet.
