All,

Just an FYI for anyone interested, this month the Surrey region of the TVRCC is moving to a new home at the Black Swan in Ockham. Their address is:

The Black Swan
Old Lane
Ockham
Surrey
KT11 1NG

We'll be there from 7:30pm onwards are per usual. If you want to eat then it's recommended (but not mandatory) to book, which you can do via their website.

All welcome,

Steve

Well I came along to this tonight with my Brother. Everyone seemed quite persistant in not having a conversation with either of us. Apart from one woman (who I assume is the organiser), she was very friendly.

Apart from that we thought the cars there were looking great. I came straight from work so mine was looking very dirty.

Dont know if I will come again as everyone seems to be best friends and not all that interested in anyone else.

Just got back from our first night at The Black Swan. The general feedback about the new location has been very positive. Given that there were north of 35 TVR's and so many new faces it was difficult to tell new members from locals. Sam, glad you and your brother came along, trust me we are a very friendly bunch so don't judge us too harshly as tonight we were all getting to grips with the new venue. The layout of the pub is massive so maybe Steve and I need to put our badges on so that new members can find us more easily.

The manager has suggested that (weather permitting) maybe a bbq would suit us so we'll give this some thought. She's even came up with the idea of an extra outside bar so that we don't have to wait for drinks.

All in all a good first night, photos to follow!

Hi guys,
There were some very beautiful cars in the car park last night, the locals were very complimentary.

Just to let you know, there are quite a few events coming up so if you have access to the official TVRCC website you can find everything in the Surrey regional forum.

If you don't have access to the site then contact me through the Mrs_T profile with your e-mail address and I'll add you to our e-group. The e-group allows us to let you know about events, drives out, etc that you might be interested in. A whole bunch of us are embarking on a breakfast run this Sunday eventually arriving at Hastings for a crazy golf tournament. Should be a laugh!

Glad you had fun, I think The Swan coped well given the turnout. See you next month if not before :0)

I am sorry you did not get to speak to many of us at the meet, I was too busy running around taking photo's of the cars and standing on the tables to get the best shot(with the camera that I made my husband go back for!! So had to take lots and lots). I do not get to come to all of the meets so I am never sure who are new or who are just not regulars. We are a very friendly bunch and would have never mean't to ignore a newbie, all TVR lovers are the same though, it is always the cars that get the most of the attention. driving

I hope you will both manage to come along next time! it will not be so mad hopefully as we have been once and it is not all so new and exciting. wobble

Thats the first time Ive ever heard of the Surrey bunch not being friendly. However, you have to make as much of an effort as they/we should to you. Come to the next one, find the chubby fella in the yellow Cerb and I'll chew your ears off all night. You'll be begging me to stop.

PS Steve, shout you need a bigger car park!

hehe

Sam - I'll second what the chubby fella said.

I've been to a lot of TVR meetings and non have been as welcoming as the Surrey crowd.

I did talk with a newbie with a Chimaera .. non standard wheels which looked quite nice if I remember.

Was it you ?

Nope wasnt me. I was in the dark blue Chimaera with the knackered dash top(peeling away due to excessive sun exposure). If i'm not busy I will come to the next meet and try again lol!

Just start a conversation with anyone with :

"Hi - I'm xxxx, what TVR do you drive."

Instant conversation guaranteed.
