I have just sold an M3 e36 rear boot spoiler to a pal with an e36 convertible and he called me last night to say it is to long, like the car is wider? He can be a bit of a dunce ( not quite as bad as me ) and I wonder if he is looking at things in his own special kind of way in this instance and maybe can not tell his left from right so to speak. I am going over to see him at the weekend ( two dunce's are are better than one surely? ) but if it turns out that he is right then I shan't bother and will just have the spoiler back as and when.

Leaving aside for one moment the view that a spoiler ruins the look of the convertible, personally, I've not seen a spoiler-ed vert using anything other than the e46 style "lip" spoiler. That's not to say the "standard" e36 spoiler won't fit mind.... surely he'll also have to glue those dirty great chunky rubber mounts on to the bootlid as well?

I saw an E36 M3 convertible with the rear spoiler and it did look wrong. It doesn't fit the same as it does on a coupe or a saloon. I think the rear deck on the convertible has a different slope and is slightly wider on top before it curves over at the sides.
