Hi, i ahve a very nice Elise S1 in scandal green, but have the urge to get a bike engined kitcar for its thrills! would i be making a mistake by changing do you think? whats your opinions? it would be an MK indy blade as have been offered one as swap for my elise! the car is used as a good weather bit of fun that is used for runs to lakes etc!

Have a word with Tybo and get his thoughts as I believe he had a BE Mk Indy smile

Failing that, why don't you do your bike test and buy a bike? Much more fun

Why not keep your Scandel S1 Elise as its lovely and put a Superchargered Honda K20A in the back? It will be faster than a bike engined kit car and more usable too.

Have search on YouTube for some of my footage when I did a trackday with the NE7ERS at Teesside Autodrome. My car is only NA at the moment, but great fun to drive.

I got the Honda put in as the K was under powered and wanted something with bike like performance as I used to ride sportsbikes.

I’ve never owned or driven either, but if it’s just opinions you want then I’d go for the designer’s option, your Elise looks the mutts.

There's no way i'd swap, you've got an absolute classic with the 160 in scandal green - I used to have a Dax rush, not bike powered granted, but too many compromises. I had the rush for 12 months then sold it, i've had the Elise over 7 years and it still makes me smile.
My tuppence worth anyway!
Cheers, Dunx.

Agree.yes

I had a R1 MK Indy for a few months.
It was great once you were out, but as said above...there are just too many compromises.

Mine had no reverse, so routes had to be carefully planned.
Speedbumps were out of the question too (all of them)
Much fun was had if you were to find yourself down an unkown road, which happens to be a dead end, with speed bumps!wobble
If it was purely for track fun, they make much more sense.

It sounds like you have the perfect car for your needs already. So, IMHO, i'd keep that.

Supercharged Honda engine in the Elise has to be the route to go. If you look up jleroux on here. He runs Book-a-Track and used to have an E'r'ise powered by Japanese witchcraft - bloody fast car smile
