Cant decide......
Discussion
What to change my current car for.
I currently have an 07 Leon FR and love driving it, its reasonably quick, handles well and often puts a smile on my face, BUT..... I have had one or two niggles with it. They have been fixed under warranty and now everything is fine and works as it should, but it has put me off getting another Seat.
So as its nearly time for a change I have been thinking of things I could change it for, this is where I start to get a bit giddy and need some help. I have had several ideas of what to get next, these range from a Porsche Cayenne to a Nissan 350Z (all a few years old of course). Originally I thought I would keep the FR get an extended warranty and then change the second car for something I could play around in, hence the 350Z. Then I looked around to see what I could get for my money and found there is an influx of older 4x4's, which would do as the family car. This is where the wife slapped me and told me not to be stupid.
So I can’t decide what to do and what to look at next. So if you have any sensible idea's that meet the quick family car criteria please let me know.
Here are a few used cars that I have been thinking about, but would like to know how they are to live with...
Golf R32
S3 - Might have to be the 3 door, due to price.
A3 S Line 2.0T
BMW 325 or 330
Or sell an arm and leg to get the new Golf GTI.
Thanks in Advance and sorry for the waffle.

Erm sadly no. I'm only 18, but I've sat in one, and just sitting in one is special. I think the R32 is a one off car now as the next R golf is an R20 (booooring!), so that V6 borble is going to be unique. Supplies are really drying up now as the autotrader results are low (for 3 door DSG's) and people have snatched up the surplus there was a few months ago.
I think DSG is a love or hate thing, personally love it, it was silky smooth and I wouldn't get bored of it. CupraBob has an R32 DSG, try PM'ing him.

DSG isnt all that.
In the line up you have there I would go for the BMW 330. 325 just isnt worth it.
S3 is also very good, better than the R32 in every way except the noise.
S3 will be more reassuring to drive than 330, but ultimately once tamed the 330 is much more fun. Rear wheel drive is better than Haldex 4WD, unless its actually snowing.

The noise of the R32 is certainly good. I think a manual would be in order though, I haven't driven a DSG but I can see it confussing the wife. (No the other left love!)
I have always wanted a 330 and the noise that makes is not bad either, but the only issue I have is a friend had the 330d convertable and reckons it ate rear tyres and thats without hammering it. Now he does bend the truth slightly so who knows.
As for the S3, I like the FR and I am thinking the S3 will be a vast improvement on build quality and performance.
I have only sat in the new GTI and that seemed well built but the prices are silly. Basically I want leather seats (Got 2 kids) and bluetooth (Not essential as after market kit would do).
