Amsterdam Stag Do

My best mates is having his stag do in Amsterdam this weekend.

Other than the obvious are there any good things to do, see and what are the main bars and clubs to go to and to avoid?

I hear they have a superb go karting track just outside the city?

Never made it to many of the pubs, we stayed about 20yds outside the RLD so hit all the coffee shops / bars within it / hotel bar.
Then it was the usual after....

Make sure you go to the sports bar at dam square iirc, unlimited rack's of ribs for 12 euros !!

The red light bar is cracking base for when you go 'exploring' in teams.

Yeah if you get offered drugs politely decline, not only is it probably talcon powder but if you get your wallet out they'll rob you!
They will pester you but just say no thanks.
Another top tip, theres about 4/5 rows of "streets" steer clear from the one with the blue lights unless your a bumder.

depends who's offering. the black guys hanging around on the corner are visibly well dodgy, but have bought from hispanic guys before which definitely was not talc!

I find the best method is not to acknowledge them at all. The second you look at them or worse, speak to them, they'll harrass you until you buy it just to fk them off. They're completely blatant about it too.

never spoke to them tbh, their arrogance is something else - blocking you as you walk along etc - and its not nice having to cut through the RLD area at night just you and the mrs.

The RLD is world famous, theres families, couples, kids, all sorts of people wandering round it.
It's not really seedy at all!

yes i did. been other times with female friends as well. this might blow your mind but i wouldn't pay for sex in any country. amsterdam is one of the most beautiful cities on europe, though damrak and the rld is worse than blackpool.

fwiw, the [ex]oh found the RLD [or 'lady lane' as she put it] most amusing. ok for a diversion, wouldn't plan a holiday around it.

When knocking on one of the windows, don't ask "how much for the dog?" if the 'lady' has a poodle/terrier/rat sat on her lap. The resulting chase lacks dignity for all concerned .
