Is anyone going this year? I'm still thinking about it, is it worth it? Weekend tickets seem to include the Santana and Pusstcat Dolls concerns, which I have no interest in (well, I'd like to look at the Dolls, but not hear them). Any camping tips, I'm a boring old git so would like somewhere quiet.

Looks like a good weekend, I entered the prizedraw to win some tickets the other week, some very decent racing. Ok entertainment looks a bit naff but for a race weekend it looks good value for money.

Yes, there's quite a few of us heading over there.


Camping at Whittlebury is £35 for a 6m x 7m pitch (which you will get a decent tent and a car on) for the whole weekend (Friday to Monday)

The racing should be good, Group C are awesome, as are the GP Masters and i'm looking forward to the World Sports Cars Masters this year (think GT40s 917s etc)

There was loads going on in the infield last year, rally display, club stands, trade stands etc....

It's also very relaxed, you can wander around the paddock and nose at all the cars without obstruction.

I loved it last year, hence i'm going this year, only reservation is that it's not the same organisers.

i love it but wont be attending this year due to work stuff.....

to be honest, its miles better than the revival meeting as the place is empty in comparison, no one is there "to be seen" and everyone is an enthusiast, it might well sound snobby but eventually you get tired of heairng the poseurs thinking evrything red is a ferrari etc etc. you can wander round the paddock at silversotne and the circuit with relative ease, especially on friday or saturday. its cheaper and the grandstands are open and free. you wil lalso see at least 75% of the same cars given the racing includes pre war alfas, d-types, historic touring cars, formula juniors, historic f1 and group c stuff.

highlights last year were watching the F1 race from the grandstand at the pit lane exit on the infield so the sound of DFVs could reverberate around the stand, plus they looked awesome through Copse and maggots. we watched the historic sportscar masters and group c races from Woodcote.

in short, best weekend of racing in the country.

The Classic is always a good weekend, although the prices are extortionate this year. I'll be camping at Whittlebury with a crew of PH's finest, looking forward to some fine weather. Get to the inside of Maggotts for one of the Group C races - it's like meeting God. The 90min World Sportscar Masters race on Saturday evening is special too. Enjoy it!
