It's took me Six years... smile... but I've finally decided to move the pedal away from me, so that my left leg can straighten a bit.

However, on moving the pedal as far as it will go towards the bulkhead, the clutch wont engage.

I've turned it back five spins & the clutch now engages, however yesterday, whilst hot & stuck in traffic, the bolt at the back of the clutch pedal in bedded itself in the bulkhead.

I'm going to have to come back a few spins & go back to old bendy leg.

Am I missing a trick ?

Unscrew pedal.
Cut off excess thread.
Replace pedal.
Enjoy comfortable leg position.

Careful with this Russell... One of the theories that I remember being bounced around on here for the clutch fingers breaking was due to the pedal being pushed to far and thus over bending the fingers on the plate.

Thanks folks.

Hi Mark, on that theory, I'd think I was putting the pedal in a better position.

It's currently screwed out about 10 turns, for shorter legs, & the clutches engages & then some.

When the pedal was all the way in, for long legs, the bolt at the back stopped the clutch from fully engaging.

I think the reply at the top, is the best bet, by cutting the bolt back. But... Only cutting off enough to engage the clutch, but leaving enough on to protect it from over extending.

I keep calling it a bolt, but I presume it's just a bit of 'all thread' smile

Plus if you cut too much off, you'll only be able to sell the car to other gangly-legged freaks biggrin. There should really be separate threaded adjusters for the pedal and end stop rolleyes

hehe I'm definitely all legs.

Would I be right in saying, that there's no adjustment for the throttle pedal ?

True, but selling isnt on my adjenda. Certainly on mine the thread was ridiculously long and I didnt trim it too short - just take enough off to stop it hooking up in the carpet.

There is, but its a bit "manual"... Wedge something behind it to stop the pivot taking all the strain and bend the arm to suit. With care a good result can be obtained.

I'm that destructive, my mom took all my broken toys away & would only let me play with canon balls....I used to break them aswell.

Think I'll give the throttle pedal a miss smile
