Just looking in to our honeymoon, haven't chosen a resort yet, too many to choose from.

I'm just wondering if it tends to be the norm for the resorts to charge extra for the basic watersports, things like dinghy/cat sailing, canoes, windsurfing etc. or if these are usually included. The few websites I've seen so far seem to charge extra for them but when I was in the Caribbean it all seemed to be included.

Cheers,

Russ

In the Maldives you are far more captive in your resort than anywhere else in the world.

Hence you pay for just about anything extra - unless AI.

A lot of the watersports stuff in the Maldives is extra because they are run independently of the resort management. Most of the diving operations, for example, are run by European based companies.
