540 touring vs 330i touring

Thinking of changing my 540 considering a 330 will I be disapointed with the performance (not too concerned about economy)

I've driven both and own an e46 330. The e46 handles and stops better. Any speeds above 90mph the 540 is quicker, below that there is no difference.
