Question was for a friend at work.
Yes he has tried that with no change. But thanks for the suggestion.
He found a very good Audi forum photo journal of how to change it, so was hoping that it was in the same place directly under the steering wheel?
On a funny note, he spoke to Merc and they said "What do you expect it's 8 year old"!
My 12 year old Audi is still purring!
He has just had to replace the special key unit (expensive) and the turbo pipe blew off 2 days later, now this!
Seems 8 years is a turning point for the C class?
