HBO's "Pacific" - good news for Band of Brothers fans

Hanks and Spielberg are at it again. I thought Band of Brothers was some of the best TV I've ever seen and was quite excited when I read (a while back now - 2-3 years ago, I think) that they were considering doing a "companion" series about the war in the Pacific. I'd rather given up on it so this is welcome news.
Scheduled for Spring 2010. Looks very promising....

It sounds from the Hanks/Spielberg featurette on youtube that it's a composite storyline centred around two chaps that wrote books of their experiences, and one other guy. It's going to be weird getting to know a bunch of new characters as well as Winters and co. – and it's hard to believe BoB was filmed over 10 years ago! I've just started watching it through for at least the 10th time. No other TV series has come close to it in terms of visceral engagement with characters and the war. Yay!
