SPECS - Where They Really Are!
Discussion
I have tried a half hour web search for a single database of live SPECS sites in the hope of ending all the regular hoax warnings that get posted... without success.
Can anyone list where they actually are sited or link to a site which can tell us?
Ooh... and could the lovely moderators sticky this thread for a while so it doesn't disappear without a trace? How very kind.

Notts, where they were first used.
Its on the way to/from junction 26 on the M1 from Notts. Not sure of the exact road name/number.
The A610, they start at the 'Cinderhill' island where the Gateway Hotel is and continue until you get to 'Bobbersmill' at about the Volvo dealer.
They also go along A6514 (the Nottingham RingRoad) from the junction with the A610 as far as Beechdale in one direction, and McDonalds in the other direction.
Bit of a map
Check out : www.abd.org.uk/links_uk.htm
Also check out the 'Safety Camera Partnerships' and police force website for your route.
AFAIK there is no website that now maintains a list of 'scameras', except the sites that download locations to a GPS-based detector.

As far as I am aware, they are not between leiceser and Notts.
In nottingham itself,
- They are in the north of the city. They start on the ring road (A6514), by the Queens medical centre (Derby Road Junction A52) and then finish where the ring road Joins the Mansfield Road (A60)
They can also be found on the A610 (from M1 J26) into town, on a road that runs parallel to the ring road (Oxclose Lane - B6004) and on an other spur of the ring road (past the City Hospital (Edwards Lane - Not sure if operational yet)
They also have many Scameras about.
There are every where and increasing in numbers

I can think of at least 10 or 12 of my mates have been done by the scamera van on London Road on the way into the city from the south.
No matter how many times I tell them to watch out!
A taxi driver reckons that he sees them as late as 2am in some parts of the city. They are keen arnt they

Interesting

Doesn't even list the specs sites although it does list mobile sites

So if I've been past Winchester twice over 70 I will get two NIPS?
We are policed by w*nkers. What t*ssing harm did I do? I wasn't even faster than the traffic around me!
Sad but true.
In Nottingham, you can get caught maybe 8 times in one journey of 2 miles distance. Great isn't it.
As far as I am aware, it is 8 separate offences.
There are about 20 - 30 Cameras in Nottingham and they work in pairs. The first triggers the timer and the second calculates your speed. The next camera you pass will again trigger the timer. Therefor each pair can issue a single ticket.
As I said, this is what I thought (maybe some once can correct me)

I got three Talivan tickets issued in 8 mins on the A449.
Solicitor said it was one offence.
Police agreed and did me *once*.
There is case law both ways so it's pure luck if the plod will drop it. (Funnily enough Plod do NOT like to go to court so just the suggestion you want to is enough to get them to back down.)

Link to the company that develops SPECS, there are maps and announcements :-

Dunno what the M3 Winchester cameras are but I'm fairly sure they're not doing speed persecution.
