FAO anyone in the know,

Recently i've been doing a little bit of spear fishing with some friends down the local beaches (nowhere near bathing spots) around rocks on the sea bed etc & have been "borrowing" their spear guns.
I'm looking into getting myself one today & was just making sure i'm able to just go into a diving shop and buy one?
I dont need to get any form of special ID or anything do i?

ETA - Mods mind if this just stays in here for a short time while i get a couple replys.

If your over 18 I am pretty sure you can just walk in and buy one.

I haven't actually seen any for sale in the diving shops I use though, Probably better looking in shops more suited for fishing, hunting and shooting. Failing that ask your mates whos gun you borrow, maybe its for sale? or they can tell you where they got it from.

Can't help you other than to say well done, it's a great choice of hobby. I do it in Greece with a mate who owns a couple of bars/restaurants etc.

One of the guys who i've been with got "into it" a bit too much, bought himself some gun you need to "pump up".
Stupidly powerful and he out a trident spear in the gun, was swimming after a bass, shot said bass & cut the bass in half.
Note to self - dont buy a trident.
