Felt Compulsion 4 2009
Discussion
the questions is do you want more of a freeride bike or more of a xc bike? what are you planning to do with it?
the felt is much more of a freeride bike and could well be hard work on the climbs. front and rear shock wise it looks ok, locl out on the front and propedal on the rear though thats a lot of travel which you may not need....spec wise it is pretty good all round. the hubs are the only real weak point and for a freeride bike thats a bit of an issue longer term.
for a more xc orientated ride, the boardman is pretty good http://www.boardmanbikes.com/mtbfs/fs_team.html
the giant anthem x3 is well worth a look http://www.pedalon.co.uk/acatalog/giant_anthem_x3....
and the trek fuel 5.5 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/fuel-ex-5...
if i were you i would go for the anthem... i was seriously tempted by the x3 but found a good deal on a commencal at merlin and bought that instead :-)
